World Occupational Therapy Day is an annual, global event that promotes and celebrates the profession of occupational therapy worldwide. It has been held every year since 2010. The event is an opportunity to showcase the important work that occupational therapists do in helping people of all ages to live their lives to the fullest.

World Occupational Therapy Day is coordinated by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, an international body that sets the standards for occupational therapy education worldwide and raises awareness about this important profession.

World Occupational Therapy Day takes place every year on 27th October. This year is no exception – World Occupational Therapy Day 2024 is taking place on Sunday 27th October 2024.

The event often coincides with other events around the theme of occupational therapy and supporting the work of occupational therapists. Some countries hold Occupational Therapy Week or Month, providing more opportunities for people to get involved.

Every year, a different theme is chosen for the event, to help provide a focus for activities and celebrations. The theme for this year’s World Occupational Therapy Day is ‘Occupational Therapy for All’.

This theme focuses on the many ways that occupational therapists can help people achieve their individual goals. It also supports the concept of working together with others to promote community interaction and participation.
